No
I've had a Canon 10-22 for about 5 years now and love using it.
A friend was asking which wide angle to get for a new Canon 750D purchase and I was ready to say 10-22 after my experience, but have read good things about the 10-18.
Has anyone got one and are they as good as reviews say? Its a big price difference down from the 10-22!

Some reports say that it's good, for the price. But when you look at the price of it, vs the 10-22 and you see that they've added Image Stabilisation into the design, you've got to question how the optics will be as good as the 10-22.
The build and design of the 10-18 is pretty much on par with the standard 18-55mm IS kit lens. So as long as you're not expecting miracles and you shoot carefully, eg stop down to avoid any, vignetting and softness in the corners and for optimal sharpness (most lenses are at the sharpest between f8 and f11) which should be fine if shooting landscapes or architecture, then it'll be fine.
To be fair, most of the crop sensor wide angle options are going to have similar problems.
If this friend is only just getting into photography, I wouldn't suggest spending too much on a wide angle lens until you know that you're going to use it. I had the Sigma 10-20mm and though I liked the images, I didn't use it enough.
The Sigma 10-20mm can be had for similar money, especially if looking secondhand and is better built than the Canon 10-18.

I liked mine - only sold it as I moved to full frame. I'd agree with the above though - an ultra-wide angle lens is a bit of a specialised tool but if they were definitely going to use it then I'd recommend it wholeheartedly.

Pros: Sharp, small, light, IS and inexpensive.
Cons: Plastic mount, 1-stop slower than 10-22.

Bought one for my youngest daughter to go with her 60D, really good little lens IMHO.

I have one that I use with my 80D and quite frankly in the “bang for buck” stakes it’s pretty amazing. I’ve often taken a range of pictures with that lens and my 17-55 f2.8 and ended up with one from my 10-18 as my main keeper. As others have said the question of how often you use a wide angle is worth considering when it comes to choosing between a semi-budget product or top of the range.

I like the 10-18 for it’s weight and IS. I have the 10-22 which is my favourite landscape crop lens but the lighter 10-18 is a super walk about with it’s IS. It’s half the proce of it’s big brother but way more than half the quality. The 10-18 works great on the M bodies but I now use the EF-M 11-22 and so the 10-18 is used for video on the the EOS 750D, the quiet of the STM makes a difference.

I will probably pass my 10-18 on if I get the M50 for it’s (limited) 4K but who knows.

IMHO the 10-18 is better than the Sigma 10-20 which I had as my first UWA.
