Yes
I have bought the wife a 350d for her b/day along with the kit lens. I have the chance of either a canon 75-300 or 100-300 I know they may not be the best in the world but out of the 2 which is better. image quality wise

I bought the 75-300mm but found that it was very good up to 200mm but the sharpness fell off dramatically after that.

However for the price, if you regard it as a 70-200 mm lens then it is very good value.

I now have the 70-300mm IS USM lens which is AWESOME, sharp right up to 300mm.

I've seen the 75-300 and didn't like it that much, it's quite basic in quality
I bought the 90-300 on the cheap, which was slightly better and more rugged. didn't push the extremes for the glass/price
the 70-300 IS if you can afford it...I really like this lens.
do you need to go to 300?? the 55-200 IS is getting good reviews I think

:agree:

I went from a Tamron 70-300 to the Canon 70-300 IS USM, there's a marked improvement. The results from the Canon are excellent. I do however, back it off slightly to 280mm for the best results, but that might just be my lens. Tried this lens with close up too, it is very impressive.
