Canon 1000D to 40D

Basically I have been offered a Canon 40D body for £260 from a mate at work. Has done approx 12,000 actuations. I know this is a few models up from the 1000D I have at the minute. Just wondering if this would be a worthwhile investment as I have looked at the specs and there isn't much between them.

Definitely worthwhile and seems a good price. The 40D is a little bigger and much better built - with faster AF. Can you try it out first?
 
Yeah I read that body is made of magnesium as opposed to plastic.

He would probably let me try it yes.

It's a good price, the 40D is a very nice camera (I've been using one for a few years now).

Def worth while getting, the 40D is a much better body and that is a good price, esp as you know the history
 
Cheers for the replies. Get a works bonus at the end of the month so wanted to find out if it would be worth the upgrade.

Yep you'll be amazed at the difference, it's a bigger body, more weight, feels very nice to hold ...
