Don´t do it, they are not IS Lens, they are older and optically inferior to the new 18-55mm IS and the 55-250mm IS, they are the ones you want

When the 1000d came out, it was supplied with the 18-55 is lens, which mine has when I bought it earlier this year. I have since seen it in shop windows on the high street recently, it now appears to be supplied with the non is 18-55 lens which came with the 400d.

Very sneaky from Canon imo.
