Canon 100D - Cracking Little Camera

Anyone else bought one of these and been chuffed at what a fine little camera it is? The size is great and the IQ exactly what you would expect from a current Canon but the thing I like even more is the simplicity. The two buttons I want are ISO and Exposure Comp and they are right where I want them. I don't care that the there is only one cross type focus point because I rarely use any but the centre one. The familiar Canon menus make sense to me and the live view and touch screen possibilities are excellent if you want them.

I've been playing around with mirrorless cameras for a while now but to my mind this little chap beats them all hands down. I'd forgotten just how nice it is to shoot with a decent optical viewfinder - this one is surprisingly good given the small size of the camera. Focusing is fast and so far seems very reliable. I wouldn't want to hang L lenses on it but I don't have any so that's all right then. I've been using it so far with some very ancient EF lenses I've had since the late eighties - my old faithful 28-70mm 3.5-4.5 II is sharp enough, tiny and suits the 100D well - and I'm looking forward to trying it with a Canon 50/1.4 which is on the way.

There must be someone else out there with a 100D. Anyone?

Didn't have a cat handy for the obligatory new-camera cat photo but here's a snap of Pip instead:

I'm looking at one of these as the small form factor quite appeals to me as it's still a true dslr. I would of thought there'd be more talk about it on this forum unless I've completely missed something :suspect:

Odd isn't it? I've tried CSCs and DSLRs and the 100D is tiny and performs as well as the DSLRs and better than the CSCs. Some people will want more buttons but its simplicity is part of the attraction for me. ISO is immediate; exposure comp is immediate; everything else is an easy touch screen control panel away.

I have one.

Sure, they are not bad, but I hardly use it
