Canon 100mm f2.8L macro

I was looking at getting one of these, but spending £739.99 on without knowing what the L stands for would be silly lol.

Anyone know?

L = Luxury. It means there are more exotic materials making the glass. L designation generally means the best Canon produce. If you want to save money, you could go with the non-L magro, but then you do without the IS system. There's little in it in sharpness between the 100L and non-L.

If your passing through an airport - I noticed that "Dixons Tax Free" where doing a 100mm F2.8L for about £649 a couple of weeks ago. £100 off....

Although, not on the website - you may be able to reserve.
