Canon 12mm tube

Looking advice on the Canon 12mm extension tube EF II, priced around £70. Anyone use one? Any good?

If say shooting with a 50mm standard lens on full frame, with the Canon 12mm extension tube attached what length does it change it to?

The focal length won't change with the tube. The minimum focus distance will get closer and infinity won't be possible....it's not possible to give precise distances without knowing which "50mm standard lens" you have.

The 12mm tubes build quality is excellent.

I've a Canon 50mm f/1.8 MkII lens, and a EF 70-200mm f/2.8.

So using the 12mm tube means you get closer etc? That's what I'm after ok.

Okay,
50/1.8 should give you a focus range of 249-324mm between MFD and infinity on the lens scale.
70-200/2.8 will give 533-622mm on the wide end and 1161-3392mm on the telephoto end....you'll have to interpolate for any settings inbetween the 70 and 200mm.
