Canon 135mm F2 L

Has anyone used or owns one of these who can offer some opinions on it? I've heard that it is supposed to be one of the sharper L primes but whether this is true is another matter?

The medium telephotos are all pretty much the same with the two L macros slightly ahead of the pack IMO. The one thing where the 135L does excel is its very snappy focus...much quicker than the 85L, 100L, 180L and 200L

The 135L is a stunning lens. Sharp from f/2 and fast to focus. It's only behind my 85L for sharpness.

It's fast and sharp. One of the best. Although it's arguably impractical for shooting animals or people moving around, I still do as it's just a lovely thing.

Like many other football photogrpahers i have been using it as a second lens.. a 400mm for one end of pitch and 135mm for the other.. the players tend to move around a lot

I ahve used my 135mm profesionally for all manner of jobs ..its fantastic..

However after reading reviews I now have the 70-200 mkII which means i will use the 135mm less.. but its so good i will not be parting with it... i cant bring myself to get rid of what is a brilliant lens.
