Canon 14mm lens

Hi,

I'm thinking of buying Canon's 14mm lens.

I see there's two versions, EF 14mm f/2.8L USM and EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM. The 11 version is alot more expensive, is it much better, and if so why? Has any one used both versions?

Tbh, if you're consider buying this lens, I'm surprised you need to ask other's about anything to do with it!

On a practical note, the difference is about 16yrs and all that goes with it.
 
I use the 14mm Sigma. It's supposedly slightly sharper than the Canon version but I doubt if anyone could tell the difference in reality.

Look at what you want to do and decide whether the difference between the two lenses is going to make much difference. I decided that for the work it was going to do the Sigma at the price was the better option.
