Anyone had any more experience with this yet? Dont hear much about it but it should be one of the flagship lenses before L by the reviews I have seen??

It looks fairly sharp, better than the discontinued 17-85. It should make consumers fairly happy with their walkabout landscape pictures, but at a fairly hefty price.
Vignette seems fairly strong, and the distortion is there. I could only guess about contrast and colours - and I guess L lenses will fare better. f3.5-5.6 would be my main gripe - it makes it a landscape only lens. f4 constant would bring it more respect.
