Canon 1D charger issue.

On this charger there is a refresh function, which when in operation illuminates a yellow led.

I currently have two batteries being refreshed now, one led is on, the other is flashing.

Does anyone know what a flashing led mean? I can find no reference to it in the manual or with the help of google. I'm guessing it could be indicating a stuffed battery?

They don't refresh simultaneously, nor do they charge simultaneously. Also, don't be fooled into thinking that a continuous light means charging is complete. For some reason it's different from all the XXD chargers (dunno about the 5D charger though).

Edit: I may be mistaken but I think the flashing light indicates that it's queued but someone will be along to correct me soon enough!

As said above the charger charges one battery at a time so if you want to recondition and charge two batteries it can take a long time.

From 'memory', first it's yellow/orange whilst the battery is being discharged (can be up to 8 hours), then it is solid red while charging and blinks when done or when waiting, i.e. if you have two batteries connected.

You can try it with one battery at a time to confirm, but to repeat the charger works on one battery at a time.

I see, i never realised that. Thanks a lot.

Next time i wont try and refresh and charge two batteries 5 hours before i need them!
