Canon 1D III focus screen

I need a new focus screen, does anyone know the part number for the standard screen as there seems to be a few of them.

I'd be interested to hear if anyone has changed from the standard version and their views on it.

This is the standard focus screen click albeit out of stock.

Ive used the EC-B split prism focus screen, found it good on the 24-70 and the 70-200 as they were both f/2.8's. Not so keen on it with the 100-400 though.

I also tried the EC-I, i quite liked that as with the cross hair i found it easy to aim exactly at a spot such as an eye etc. The problem with it is other than a small circle in the centre the remainder of the screen is slightly frosted (if that makes sense?). But it was £12 from amazon a while ago.

Ive just ordered an EC-D to give that a whirl as it has grid lines.

I'm just going through the same exercise and getting a split prism for my Mk3.
I believe that the original is the EC-C 111 laser matte but there are a number of options.....best described here

How do I tell the difference between a Ec-CIII and a Ec-CIV?






EDIT: found it stamped on the small lug used for removal, for info it's a EC-CIV
