Canon 1d mkiv remote shutter help please

Hi, I am looking for a reasonably priced wireless shutter release for the mkiv ,it only going to be used to see if I like the results ,hence not wanting to pay to much in the beginning ,I have never used them before so I am not to well up on them,i did consider hard wired but I cant find one suitable were I can get a extension cable of at least 5 metres ,any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks

You'll get them on flebay, just make sure they are for the 1D as the connecting wire is different

Ok i have just recieved the rf-602/c i have plugged the three pin plug in the reciever and the connection on the other end is a single mic plug which goes in to the camera mic socket ,all lights on reciever light up but its not releasing the shutter,i am in man mode ,could any one help,thanks
 
Do you have the cable with the plug in the pic above?
 
Hi,i have just realised they have sent the wrong cable ,its 3 pin at one end but not the other ,i have just had to order one ...the one i have as the three pins but the other end is a jack plug
 
have you set both switches to be the same?

mines rf-602rx rec and rf-602tx for send BTW works perfect on mkIV
 
Hi Tony, please excuse my ignorance but i dont understand ,the rf-602rx only as one switch which is on and so does the rf-600tx both are switched on,the cable they sent could be the issue as it only as 3 pins at one end and a jack plug at the other....thanks for the help
 
theres 4 tiny switches marked 1-4 on each piece and they both have to be the same.... switch might be the wrong word but you must be able to see them ? :)
 
yes the cable should be 3 pins at each end.. but still you need the 1-4 thingies to match up as well :)
 
Looks to me like you have the cable for the Canon 400/500 series cameras, that is why I posted the pic of the N3 plug to make sure you received the correct cable.
 
Feeling guilty, perhaps I should have explained the difference between the two Canon cables and there use with different camera bodies.
