Canon 200-400 f4 + 1.4x built in

I have done a search but found nothing, any body got an idea of how much this lens is going to cost. Plus wonder how heavy its going to be.

No seriously there has been some discussion on this only yesterday, 4 simultaneous threads.
ball park figures being thrown around were 6-8k ish IIRC.
 
Nikon one is about £5000 plus a TC £300, I would imagine the Canon would be pitched around that mark, plus the inevitable new product premium on the price.
 
Here's my two-penn'orth.

The Nikon 200-400 costs about £4.5k-£5k depending on where and when you buy it. The Canon has the built-in Extender which I can see adding £500 to the price. Plus if it's been treated to the same weight-loss programme as the other Canon super-teles, it will be a lot lighter than the Nikon, and that's worth paying for too.

Bottom line: I reckon it will launch at £8k or more, and in the long run it will *eventually* drift down to about £5.5k-£6k.
 
You also need to take the retail price of the 400mm DO into account, which is currently about £5.5k, so I reckon that Stewart is about on the money.

Yup, that's my guess as well. As for weight - 3200g give or take 300g.

I may be selling a bunch of premium bonds before my next safari to buy this. And if it's any good I'll be selling my 300 2.8
