Yes
Is the Canon 24-105 f4 L USM IS Lens a good all rounder?
Reason I am asking is that a work colleague is selling one for £650 or very near offer...I reckon he will let it go for £600 but have no prior knowledge of the lens.. any info gratefully received.
Thank you.

Pete, it is an utterly amazing lens.
I was quite concerned with spending over £600 for a second hand lens, but I'm soooooo glad I did.

If you can get it in a good condition for £600, snap his hand off!!

Trust me mate, you will not be sorry. It's truly mind blowing.

Well not quite enough said,it's a good all rounder if you own a full frame camera - not so good on a 1.6 crop 24mm would becomes 38.4mm.

I personally prefer the 24 - 70 2.8 for the faster aperture, shallow depth of field - but the lens is at a good price,se if you can test it out first.

I have a Canon EOS40D so it is a cropped sensor, I have offered him £500 cash on the back of this good advice!! I will obviously pay more subject to test but you have to start somewhere I guess.
Thanks for the very valuable advice so far.
