Canon 24-105mm f4L doing strange things anyone help.

If i put it on my 1d mk11 then the app just says 00 can't change it andf when auto focusing the IS system viberates (stop if you play with switch)
on my 40d the app works from F4 all the way up. but still viberates when focusing. the lens still trys to auto focus when i man focus mode. need to book it in to be fixed just wondered if anyone had any idea's!!

We've had a couple of 24-105s that have done that. It's some sort of electrical problem which is pretty easy for Canon to fix. The 24-105 is covered by their fixed price repair scheme too, so it will cost you £104 unless there's a price list newer than the March 2013 one which we have on the noticeboard here.
