Has anyone had experience with both lenses? What do you think? I was thinking of getting the Canon, but now swaying towards the Tamron.

PS: Did a search, don't think there's another thread on this?

There was a review in AP last month reviewing all the 24-70 f2.8. The Canon was better but not by much.

It would depend on a few things, and quality control is one of them. On the-digital-picture the ISO crops are clearly better on canon, but photozone.de came to the opposite conclusions!

One is clear though - if you are going to be shooting primarily at 1/60 or slower in low light then Tamron does make a lot more sense if only for the IS.

I'm having a similar dilema and I can't really make up my mind the IS is great but the reviews are a bit variable, I'm not sure the Tamron will have been a great seller to date as it's priced so close to the MK1 and most people automatically reach for the L lens this might change once supplies of the mk1 dry up completely and we may see some better user reviews.
