Canon 24-70 f2.8L mk1 price

Does anyone know what's going on with the price of the mk1?!

I was strongly considering investing in one of these (mk2 is still astronomically priced!), but it looks like I'll be changing my mind and sticking with my current kit :bonk:

If you click on the link it does to a mkII, I can't see a mkI listed new at any of the obvious sites so you might need to look for a used one.

I should add that the price of the mkII isn't £1450 though.
