Canon 24mm f2.8...any thoughts

Looking for a fast prime at between 20-35mm as a low light / walk about lens and came across a Canon 24mm f2.8 on the bay. I checked out the flickr group for this lens and was very impressed with IQ...VERY impressed!

Anyone got one....thoughts.

Yep, got one and use it a fair bit. IQ is good, AF is ok. The main downside is the AF motor is really noisy.

I can live with noise AF as it's the IQ that's the most important bit.

I have a choice of the Canon 24mm f2.8 or a Sigma 24mm f1.8 both on ebay but don't know which to go for. The canon is lighter and the sigma has f1.8 rather than f2.8 but could be a duff lens what with focus issues. I have asked for image examples from the sigma to see if it's a goodun.

I have seen mixed reviews on that lens, does look nice and the HSM version would be the one to go for. hmmmm
