Has anyone any experience on this or similar type of grip for the 30D? My budget is £40, hence I'm looking low down the pecking order, but tbh it seems pretty good. Anyone know what the build is like? Does it handle well? Thanks

Finally, on another thread, an LCD protector was discussed that is already on the Canon when its bought and can be replaced for about £12 or so. Anyone know where to get these?

tks Lawrence

looked at their feedback. a few itwms taking a long time to ship/dmagaed, and probs getting refunds.
it looks similar to the canon item, but personaly i would sooner go for genuine.
i have a gnuine canon grip on my 30D. best thing ive bought.
as i have hands like shovels, it makes the camera eaisier to handle. and i can shoot all day one on pair of batteries.

if ya buy, get a new PAIR OF MATCHING batteries.

I got a phottix grip off the bay about a year ago with a couple of batteries for about £45, it took a while to arrive from HK, but it fits solidly for me and all the functions work perfectly - the camera handles much better and a year on the batteries seem to be doing fine! The grip hasn't worn as well as i imagine a genuine one would - but it's only cosmetic - the plastic becomes shiny where it rubs on things. ...sure i'd rather have a genuine one, but not as much as i'd rather spend my cash on other things!

Thanks. So, I gather that they are of a plastic build? Does it have a rubber grip?

tks ;)

I had the Phottix and could not tell the difference from the BG-E2 (it actually felt sturdier) so +1
