Hello all,

I am looking to get back into togging after my previous financial position where I had to sell my beloved A700 and then my 40D:'(. I have been looking at a 30D to start again as I feel I could get a decent camera for my ability and have some spare cash for decent glass. I enjoy nature photography and sports photography and don't really intend to take photos in poor light if can be helped.

Please could I have some views on the 30D? Is it a pretty decent camera? I will eventually look to upgrade, but this could suffice until I win the lottery:lol:!
 
I own one, it's a great piece of kit and way more camera than I can fully use. Thoroughly recommended.
 
Used one for about two years at work and it was brilliant - produced great raw files and was well built. As good as a 40D if you can live with the smaller screen, slightly lower MP count, no Liveview and slightly slower FPS

Thats what have a 30d 17-40L, only upgrading as the money is available now
 
Done some sports photography on my 30D first DSLR i've owned and i'm impressed at the ease you can get good results, even more so with good glass i currently have a sigma 17-70 and 70-200 F4 L and the pixel count is more than adequate, it can get noisy over 400 iso though.
 
great camera, only just upgraded to a 50D after using the 30D for the last 3 1/2 years, superb pictures!! - will be selling mine
