Canon 35mm f/2 IS, anyone got or used one?

Fantastic lens. It instantly became my fav lens, and i almost stopped using my 24-70 f/2.8 MKII. It never left my 5DMKIII for the first few weeks.
I really cant fault it. Its very sharp wide open, small and light, and having IS has been very handy for hand held night shooting. Its probably the most versatile lens i have owned.
I have only 1 issue (and i had two copies), the Coma is quite bad at the corners when used wide open. Its really not an issue for me though. Its the lens i reach for most of the time unless i need more reach, or need wider or longer specifically.
I dont have it at the moment (i needed to free up some funds) but plan on getting another next month.

May I ask did you have problems seeing as you mentioned having two copies?

No problem, I'm still very enthusiastic about this lens.

I know having IS on a prime in this focal length causes heated discussions, but for me IS is a lot more useful than f/1.4.

The day I got it I was walking along the Southbank market on the way home from work. It was a Christians market so full of lights. I noticed that towards the edge the lights seem to be more elongated. Stopping down cured this but I was convinced it was a faulty lens as I really hadn't read about this before.
When the second lens arrived from Amazon (and I had already asked to return the first) it was identical. After a bit of searching I found out that this is normal for this, and a few other primes. I learnt to live with it and really didn't notice it after that. You know what's it's like with a new lens, you view everything at 100% for a few days lol.

For what it's worth both copies were identical to my eyes, even at the edges, and each needed no more than +/-2 MFA, which is practically nothing.

Damn, this is getting me closer to getting another.

I am not one of those who dislikes IS, in fact quite the opposite having a less than steady grip and would also favour it over f/1.4

In fact the main reason I didn't want comparisons knowing that the Sigma f/1.4 would be recommended, but its this lens that really interests me

Only thing holding me back is when I looked at many of my photos exif there was quite a lack of those taken at 35mm. There again only having the one focal length might make me move and look at things slightly differently.

Yeah, any thread about this lens nearly always ends up comparing it to the Sigma and canon L.
For me being able to hand hold at around 1/4 sec means I can stop down if needed, and keep my ISO low.

I also don't have a stabilised lens under 70mm so video is always a struggle.

Once I got my 35mm I forced myself to shoot differently as I normally use longer or wider, but being forced to use just one FL is quite enjoyable.
 
This lens is defiantly one I want - I love my 35mm F2 but the IS option is really swaying me!
 
Quick and cheeky bump.

My 35mm F2 IS arrived on Friday, and has had two night time outings so far. I'm floored at just how good this lens is in real world use. Guess my old 35mm is going in the classifieds soon!
