Yes
really hope i dont sound like im trying to show off as im not at all its taken me along time and loads of hard graft to save up for this, but she finally arrived

so flipping sharp!!!!! seriously mind blowing, and not that heavy either, tried it with a 2x extender too so bumped up to 800mm and its still incredibly sharp, the IS is very clever has three settings and works better than any IS i currently use to be honest.

will be using it for work tomoz and cant wait

well you are actually..

BUT I DONT BLAME YOU!!! :)

I have the 400 f2.8 from new (£6k).. couple of yrs now.. mines pin sharp so I wonder how better yours can be.. but i have heard it defnitely is better :)

Lovely lens and nice combo with the 1D body. Which body is it? Look forward to seeing the results. Having one of the big super tele primes is a long term goal for me (very long term lol).

Nice one ....I wish I had the spare wonga for one of these...I'll have to make do with my MK1 IS..

Glad to hear that it is still a sharpie with the extender.
Where did you purchase from Tom ?

I'm sorry but the pics of Candice Swanepoel with her 400mm 2.8 II L in the press the other day were much better. She had a 1DX as well :)

Nice lens. Congrats.

Nooooo don't show me that! After just shelling out nearly £8K for a 1Dx and some new lenses one of these 400s might be next. Well not until I have sold some organs or something! :D

If I see you around Nottingham I will try and look the other way so I don't get jealous!

I've just had a look through your photos and I have to say they are amazing. I was really take with the sunset ones at Hampi, India. Also your sports images.

Congrats! Such an awesome lens! If ya get some ice hockey shots post them in the ice hockey thread.

hmmm don't think it's a 400mm or the II. Maybe a 200mm f/2?
Sorry have to post a pic!

you may see me in notts dude, ill be at quite a few notts county games on the side line for example ;)

Well that Candice is the finest looking tripod I've ever seen, she could support my Bigma any time she wants.
Oops I'm getting a bit away from the original thread here so I'll just say congrats Tom I'm not one bit jealous :bonk:

As i said on POTN cracking lens and love how they have made a much better job of the lens cover than the mk1 leatherett version, Enjoy it :)

Hi,

1st sample shot looks ok but the other two seem to have missed the focus, 1 or 2 of the riders are OOF?

Can you dislike people you don't know?

:p:lol:

Mike.

Hi,

just jesting and has nothing to do with jealousy, honest:razz:

Looks a cracking lens, roll on my retirement next September ;)

Mike.

That's one hell of a lens Tom, I'm thinking about ordering one tonight, but if my lottery numbers don't come up then thinking of ordering one is all I'm going to do tonight.
