Hi there

I have a Canon 400d and want to get into baby photography. I was just wondering if anybody knows what flash would be best to use in this instance and if anybody can give me any idea's where would be a good place to look for different backdrops I can use.

Thanks so much for reading

Hi Karen,

I used to use a 430 ex mk2 flash with my 450D and i was always impressed with the results. To be honest though if a lot of your photography is done indoors then you might be better to go for a simple one head flash set up with a softbox rather than the hot shoe flash. It would probably cost about the same and give much better results. There is a guy on here called 'Flash in the Pan' and he sells flashes, stands, softboxes etc and i'm sure if you contacted him he would give you all the info you need and his prices are very reasonable. With regards to backdrops you could ask on the lighting forum and i'm sure someone will point you in the right direction. Welcome to the forum by the way.

Thank you so much, I will have a little look for him and have a word. I am still all very new to this so trying to see what would be the best :-)

Thanks again

K xx
