Hi everyone. I recently bought a 400D for a great price because it had damaged pins in the CF slot. I successfully repaired the pins (lots of surface-mount soldering and gluing!) and it all appeared to work...
However, I soon discovered that the flash isn't working properly. Unfortunately I didn't test it before I took it apart so I don't know if it's something I've done or not!
It pops up and charges fine but it doesn't fire at all unless it's pushed down slightly - about 6-7mm or so. When it's fully up, it doesn't work. Is this a common fault? I don't want to pull it apart again just to find out it's just something like a stuck microswitch on the outside.
If anyone's got any pointers it would be great.
