Canon 400mm f2.8 Non IS repair

Very Very long shot, this is a discontiued lens i know, and very old.
The motor has started playing up.
Anyone know any private repair companies?

quiet a few chris ,its a matter of phoning round JOHNSONS glasgow ,LIEHMANS in stoke on trent ,one in colchester there all canon approved repairers so can be expensive ,nearer to home theres one in liverpool that advertises in the back of ameuter photographer mag

be aware that the canon approved repair centres won't touch a lot of older gear, for example the 28-70mm f2.8 L as they are no longer on Canon's maintenance list and spare parts are not being made. They won't even take them in for an inspection/service even if all that's required is a few screws tightening!
 
The Canon approved centres only take items in IF they happen to have some old parts still hanging about. So you might be out of luck with the 400mm non-is 2.8 - I know in the past I've found good copies of certain older lenses.. and knew already at the time they would never be repaired..but when they are 1/5th of price of the latest model.. sometimes that dictates what one can buy?
Best bet it to look from Canon's own website for their 'approved' repair centres and give them a quick call to see what they say..
