Canon 40d software upgrade

I'm trying to upgrade the firmware on one of my 40d's. The instructions say to ensure the file size is correct. If it is different, to download it again. I have now done this several times and the file size is always the same, but different to the size it should be. It is different by only a few KB's.

Has anyone any advice on this?
