Does anyone use a good with this lens, I see the jjc one around in various places, is it a lens that really needs it or will I be ok without it? For info it's going on holiday with me on a 60d thanks in advance
 
Thanks that backups what is as thinking, how do you find the flare on the lens, is it generally ok in bright conditions? I was surprised how much bulk even the lens cap adds, hence my concerns about a lens hood.
 
Its so shallow I wouldn't bother, I don't think its going to give much benefit in regards to lost contrast. a polariser is more useful.

I use mine a lot. I've never noticed a problem with flare, and I never use a hood with it.
 
Cheers thank you a to all, I won't worry about it then, just wanted to check, the key reason to purchasing this lens was portability, so might look into a polarizer instead :)
