Canon 430ex problem

Hi guys,

I haven't used my flash in a while and when I came to put it back on my 550d, it doesn't want to turn on. I can hear the high pitched noise, but it doesn't respond.

Any suggestions?

It sounds like you've got the female version Joe.
Whatever, below par batteries can result in exactly the symptoms you describe.
