Canon 450d Advice Please

I am doing a shoot at a nursery. All was going ok but they have ceiling lights that are causing me problems. Lots of yellow... off colour shots.

I have started using portrait mode which has captured some good shots but in general im getting frustrated.

Im new at this so be gentle.

IIRC to alter the white balance on a Canon camera you have to get off the creative modes and use a manual (M) or semi manual (Av, Tv) mode

take a picture of a white piece of paper/card in the room. go into the white balance settings of the camera and go to the last one labelled 'custom white balance'. Playback the image you took of the white piece of card, press the menu button and scroll down to 'custom WB' on the under the second tab, then set the white balance to that piece of card.

easier still, shoot in raw. open up lightroom, go to develop tab and you can alter the wb and colour temp very easily.

set the wb to either tungsten or fluorescent depending on the type of bulbs they are
