At least I'm no fan boy. I'll buy any lens as long as I think it's the best at the price point. I really see no reason to worry about focus issues when buying a new lens as if it's a bad one you get your money back, change it for another or get everything calibrated.
And of course a focus issue could be down to the user, or their camera and not the lens at all
PS. As I have mine here I've just rattled off 10 shots at about MFD, refocusing every time, and... you guessed it... it hit every single one![]()

You should create a wanted and buy used if you dont want to pay UK prices. That way you know you get a good copy.
