Guys i recently bought a canon 50d and when i looked through the viewfinder there was another dot apart from the 9 points you usually see. I didn't have a lens though to see if this would show on any pictures and after having a fortnight with a 17-55 IS i was glad to notice that nothing at all untoward showed up on the photos.

My question is should i try and clean this with a rocket blower or will i leave it as is? I don't own a rocket blower but will purchase one asap if it's worth my while.

What i would say though is the 50d is a cracking camera and feels so much better than my 450d ever did in my hand.

To check if it is a dust spot, or "dust bunny", you need to take a shot of a plain grey background, i.e cloudy sky, set to A/V mode and choose f20 or f22. Then zoom into the shot in photoshop and check for spots. If there is any, use the blower this may shift it. You may be better purchaseing the arctic butterfly brush to deal with stubborn spots.
