It's fine Rob and has a very pleasant bokeh. If sharpness is your "god" then you should perhaps look elsewhere as it needs to be a stop or two down before it gets there. There's also the well documented focus shift when shooting close up (1-2m) at wide apertures.....you get used it and it's not a big issue.
The 85/1.2 is a far better lens in most respects and 85mm is also my preference but FL is subjective and more of a personal thing.
I can email you some shots if you want (PM me you address)....anything online at 800px and <200k file size isn't really going to separate a 50/1.2 from a 50/1.8 on most occasions.
