Is it worth upgrading from f1.4 to the f1.2
Massive cost difference does this translate to massive improvement in phot quality?

Massive?....no. I happen to prefer the bokeh and rendering of the 1.2 but that's subjective.

Like Bob says th improvement is not as big as the jump in price but the 1.2 does produce some lovely bokeh and colours. I don't think you'll ever be able to justify it in money terms but if you have to have it and the money is available......

I hesitated for a long time before moving from my 1.4 to a 1.2 but I have to say the difference is incredible lovely bokeh yes but better right across the range

Canon Bob gives very sound advice. I did this jump earlier in the year and Bob kindly pointed out the pros and cons before I spent my cash.

I made the jump with my eyes open and glad I did. It's now my weapon of choice on my 5D mk2 when taking portraits, especially of my daughters big blue eyes!

Check out DigitalRev on youtube, there's a video on the Canon 50mm f1.8 f1.4 and the f1.2.

One thing I like about canon is the 1.2 lenses.. little jealous :)
Don't be too jealous as the f/1.2's have a little bit of "kidology" built in. They have the optical properties of f/1.2 but the exposure is closer to f/1.4 (especially the 85mm).
