Canon 550D & 17-55mm Stabiliser

I'm having a look around a some camera stabilisers for my camera, however I can't quite figure out what exactly I would need.

Ideally I'd like to keep costs as low as possible, however it still needs to be able to counter balance the weight of my 550D & 17-55mm f2.8. I've just weighed it and its around 1.3kg in total

Does anyone have any suggestions?

If I can use it with my GoPro as well then thats an added bonus, but not compulsory.

I made my own, with it's own gimble, cost around £18 all in. It's pretty effective aswell, it's a copy of the Merlin type design.

No. This is a stabiliser mainly used for video.

Mine was more of a stedicam design rather than the one you've linked to. I was looking for a picture and came across this one from ebay like the one you've linked.
