Canon 550D lens guidance needed...

I have bought a Canon 550D, i now have the 18-55mm lens, and also have a Canon 100mm macro and the Canon 55-250mm lens, my question is should i sell the 18-55 mm and buy a Canon nifty 50mm instead or keep the 18-55 and forget anbout the nifty fifty?
 
I wouldn't replace the Kit lens for a 50mm, I'd rather both. You'd miss the shorter focal lengths I reckon.
 
I sold my kit lens for a nifty fifty and haven't looked back since. There is just so much more you can do with 1.8 aperture.
Set your kit lens to 50mm and see if that range is good for you otherwise maybe look for wider alternatives.
 
Try only using the kitlens at 50mm for a while.

You'll probably find you want something wider at times.

I'd get the 50 to go alongside the 18-55, otherwise you don't have anything short than 50mm.

Absolutely agree. I bought a 50 and had to go to Swiss Land on a business trip in November. I just took the 50 as it arrived that morning and it was nice and compact for the flight. In a very pretty town and a beautiful church.
For the love of trying I could not get to anywhere in the square with the 50 to get a shot of any part of the church from top to bottum. 17mm would have eaten it. Horses for courses.
