Canon 5D Mark II - ON / OFF/ Switch

Hi,

I am a new user for Canon 5D Mark II. ON/OFF switch has 3 positions, and i cannot figure out the difference between "ON" and "\/" positions on the switch. Can someone help

Yes, one allows the control wheel to be active the other does not!

And one has the focus beep on and one does not. (Handy if you ever shoot anywhere and you don't want the darned thing beeping)

You can turn the focus beep off on either if I remember correctly?

Yes, you can go into the menu and turn it off there but I sometimes just use the power switch during a wedding ceremony and it saves me mucking about in menus and missing anything My exposure is normally set manually and I'm unlikely to want to change the aperture so access to the control wheel is not crucial for a few shots.

Thought the 2nd position just opened up the creative options.
