Canon 5D mk2 and IS stabilizer

Hello,

I just got new 5Dmk2 and noticed strange IS behaviour. Currently i use 24-105 4L IS. IS stabilizer works fine on 5D mk1, and in Live View mode on 5Dmk2. But i can't see it works on normal (not live view) mode.

Do i miss configure it somehow? or there can be some custom function that prevent it to operate.

As far as I can see the IS should start with either metering or AF start and there's no way to prevent it other than the IS on/off switch on the lens.

The 24-105 is tripod sensing and I'd assume that a 4x zoom would have a different sensitivity threshhold to initiate IS depending which end of the zoom range you had the lens set to....that's not fact but seems logical.

Changes in this firmware:
Firmware Version 2.0.9 incorporates the following improvements and fixes.
1. Improves writing/reading speeds when using UDMA 7-compatible CF cards.
2. Fixes a phenomenon where the IS function will not work when custom function C.Fn III-2 is set to [5: IS start] and the lens attached does not have an AF stop button. This is because custom function C.Fn III-2 allows users to assign IS start to the AF stop button on the lens
3. Corrects misspellings in the menu screens displayed in Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, and Thai languages.

Firmware Version 2.0.9 is for cameras with Firmware up to Version 2.0.8.　If the camera's firmware is already Version 2.0.9, it is not necessary to update the firmware.
