canon 5d mkII... 'af-on' button??...

I've just upgraded my 5d mkI to the mkII and can't fathom out what this button does... 'af-on' the documentation doesn't help at all.

has anyone sussed it out?

You can set what it does in the custom settings on the 40D, I have mine set to auto-focus (like pushing the shutter halfway down), I think you can set it for other tings. Have a look in your custom settings menu.
