HELP think I just broke my 5D MK11, forced focus ring on lens when in AUTO focus went click, lens on 40D works ok

The AF motor and associated gubbins is in the lens, not the body, so fail to see how forcing the lens could harm the camera itself.

Do you have a different lens to try on the 5d?

Removed battery overnight put it together and now it's working, will try it today and see if it comes back.
