Hello, I'm considering buying what looks to be a bit of a leggy 5DMKII body.

It's got 75k actuations on it.

When I had my 500D body serviced by Colchester camera they did a bunch of stuff to it and replaced a couple of bits, which came in around £120 IIRC.

Has anyone had the shutter mechanism replaced on a 5D MKII? I presume it's possible as a 'service item', or if the shutter fails, is the camera dead?

Thanks to anyone willing to share their experience.

To have a shutter replaced is around £200-250 I think, if it dies the camera is not dead you just get it replaced and the camera is as good as new.

75K is only about half its life term anyways so it should last a while yet
