While out in Seaton this weekend a friend of mine put his camera on a wall while he removed his backpack.
As the bag swung off his shoulder it knocked the camera off of the wall, i tried to catch it but ended up just pushing it against the wall with my leg
Outcome was the camera did not hit the ground and everything works fine, on the negative side the camera body has 2 stratches which have removed the black paint just down from the hot shoe.

This was my fault as i could not catch the camera but was able to trap it against my leg and the wall and that impact caused the scratches.
My friend id just grateful the camera did not reach the floor lens down as damage could have been expensive and says he will just go over the scratches with a black permanent marker.
I just wonder is there a touch up paint you can buy for bodies like there is for the white L lenses?
 
You could always try a car accessory place like Halfords and compare the different touch up black paints available to the camera.
 
Halfords do a rubberised enamel spray paint. I have used it for a couple of DIY bits I've made and its the closest thing you will get to the original finish on the camera. I've just put my camera against it and if I was unfortunate enough to scratch my camera this is what I would use.
 
B&Q may sell a few black spray cans with different effects. I am sure one of them was matte. Obviously you will spray a lot on some paper and then use that to touch up. I can't guarantee it won't look worse though, and it may rub off in a few months. I did it to tripod a couple years ago. It worked, but needs doing again.

OK Thank you i might also give Mifsuds a call in the morning to see if they have anything they use.
 
With spray paints you can spray a small quantity into the cap and use a fine brush to do the touching up. Its a technique I use with cars as the paint in the little touch-up bottles was always to thick.
