Canon 5D mkII ... video capture question ..

Right .... the Canon 5D mkII.

When taking video with this camera does it record the video session while the shutter is fixed up for one whole session. So any sinlge session would add only 1 shutter actuation ?

Also if the shutter is up and recording to the sensor how do you see what lens is seeing if the mirror is up ?

I think you use live view so I guess AF is out of the window.
