sure this has been bashed out before...

:help:right you lot, i have a canon 5D serial number begins 32********* blar balr.

son number 1 eyeing up mine,:love::nono::nono:

which ones do we avoid,:suspect:

0,1,2,3 they relate to years manufactured 05,06,07,08 i think two and tree are ok what about 0,1 and whats this i hear about serial numbers with a 0,or 1 after the first number being avoided because of a AF problem.?:shrug:

there that should get you lot thinking:)

I'd get him a 0... or a 1... Mark.....increases the chances that his shots won't be as good as yours.

I think the early 0... & 1.... had inferior screens for reviewing photos, nothing to do with AF issues. Also mirror fixing glue problem causing possible miiror drop off but Canon offer a free fix for that.
 
Well, obviously the later ones are younger, but the screen is rubbish anyway. You can basically make out whether someone is in the shot, but not much else*
I think mine is a 0, but can't be bothered to take the battery grip off to see. But it sure takes good photos, despite my best efforts. Overall condition and whether it has a hard life are all more important criteria for purchase - along with cost obviously. Don't limit yourself.

Bob my wife takes better pictures than me with her 6 year old lumix point and shoot, on holiday she gave me loads of advice on how to compose a shot, where best to stand, and explained in a laughing manner about how my shots were not really as good as hers. mine look a little off:bang::thumbsdown:

Mine starts 103... purchased May 2006.

What AF problem? It focuses fine.
