Canon 600D Upgrade

Hi there

I have been using the Canon 600D for a couple of years now and have the following lens collections, Canon 50mm F1.8, Canon 100mm F2.8 macro, Canon 70-200L F4 and a Sigma 10-20mm

I have some spare cash and am think of either upgrading to a 7D or getting some new glass, was looking at the Canon 17-40L F4

My question is would the 7D give me better pictures than the 600D or would i be better investing in the new glass ?

Good glass on a half decent body is generally always better than poor glass on a good body. Having said that wouldn't necessarily recommend the 17-40 as best you can do (if you're sticking with crop sensor cameras the 17-55 f2.8 is much better). And there are some good deals to be had at the moment on the 7D as it gets long in the tooth and nearer to being replaced. I've got both a 7D and 600D by the way - use the latter because it's nice and light and the fold out LCD is occasionally useful, use the former for pretty much anything serious. Though you do have to get used to the AF.
