Canon 600D with an old flash

I have a canon 600D, i do alot of cave photography and I use cheap flashes (99p from Ebay) I have never connected them to the camera and i don't intend to. I use the test button as time is irrelevent in total darkness.

The question i have is would it do any damage if I did put the flash on the 600D
(the flash i use the most is a Sirius 330CTX) i know i wouldnt get any auto settings on the flash, but would it damage it?

Also I have considered getting some wireless triggers, whould the flash work with these?

the reason for the questions is I have been asked to photograph a mates wedding, and apart from the built in flash I don't have one that will work.

buy a cheap off camera cord and test it

in what sence do you mean damage it

Flashes have different trigger voltages and a modern DSLR can be fried by an old flash. You should measure the trigger voltage with a multimeter before even considering it.

That said, are you sure you want to shoot your mate's wedding..?
