Beginner Canon 60D remote shutter recommendations

Novice here and want to purchase a remote shutter release for my Canon 60D

Any recommendations without going in to silly money ?

Do they work the shutter like the normal button ie half press to focus and full press to take the picture ?

ebay I got a clone canon one that seems near 99% as good as the much more expensive canon one
