Hi All,
Been at Silverstone today, and my cheap tele has developed a problem. 650D body, Tamron 70-300 zoom, and I am getting regular "Err 01" lens communication errors. Having shot 400 or so pics at the race it only seems to happen past about 180mm zoom - less than that and it's reliable, past that, it's 50:50. When the error presents, if I zoom out and wait, it's usually OK.
I've cleaned the contacts and TBH I'm thinking at the moment that it's a dud lens and time to buy the Canon 50-250mm to replace it.
ANyone got any insight into potentially fixing this?
Alternately, is the Canon 50-250 a good replacement? I don't use a tele often so I don't want to sink a load of money into it, but the Canon looks to be pretty good, especially for the money. I've always found the Tamron a bit "meh" with visible CR...
