Canon 67C macrolite adapter question

I'm going to be buying the MT-24EX and will need the 67C adapter to use it with my macro lens. Does anybody know if the adapter ring has any unique features or would I be able to use the Sigma 67mm adapter ring instead (which I already own)?

The Macrolite adapters have a specific profile to engage the clips on the MT-24 (and MR-!4) so I doubt that there's another available option.

Ah, ok. From the photos I've seen of it it looks very similar to the Sigma version, having a groove in it for the clips to slot into. I suppose I'll buy the flash and see if the Sigma version works, if not I'll have to get the Canon version.

You can use an old Cokin A Adapter ring (58mm) - it fits on the flashgun as it has the double ring section - then buy a 67-58mm stepdown ring to connect to your lens and that will be a cheaper solution than using the Canon adapter.

Thanks for that but it seems a bit of a faff. It's not the end of the world if I have to buy the 67C, I'd just sooner spend that money on diffusers for the flash

There's a macro photographer in Matlock, Derbyshire who also happens to have a plastic extrusion business. He's developed his own podded diffusers and run off a small batch which he sells on Ebay for about £30 a pair.
Mine are somewhere in the postal system but I bought them based on good reviews from other users.

I will do just that, Rob. I've tried many different methods for diffusing over the past god knows how many years and never been 100% happy for all subjects.
