For owners of this lens, or past owners.

Does it suffer from colour fringing, or a slight ghosting effect.

I've just bought a used copy on here and IQ isn't as crisp (by a long way) as the f4 i've just sold, which at a grand is a bit concerning.

Not that im aware of, mines ninja sharp, try adjusting the focus back or front +- 20 depending on how out it is.

It doesn't appear to be front or back focusing, more a bright blue fringe wherever something light meets something dark.

doesn't sound right to me, I don't get that with my copy and it is noticably sharper than the f4 I had before.

My copy is is tack sharp with no ghosting what so ever. Sounds like you could be contacting the seller for a refund.

I do hope you can get this sorted as it's a beautiful lens that should be producing pin sharp images.

Seller might have sold it in good faith, ive seen it before where a lens can have CA on one body but not on another

Hi Mark, if you fancy swapping your new 2.8 for your old 4.0 (which is excellent by the way) just let me know. LOL. Seriously mate, I hope you get your new lens sorted out, you're not the first person to have the same problems with that lens. Was just about to link you to Laurence's thread, but arad85 beat me to it, who did the same as you and was as gutted as you no doubt.
